Lawsonia inermis Seeds (Henna)
Henna (Lawsonia inermis), also known as “mignonette tree” or “Egyptian privet,” is a tropical flowering plant cultivated for its natural dye properties. It features small, fragrant, creamy-white flowers and dense clusters of vibrant, reddish-brown leaves. Henna grows as a shrub or small tree, typically reaching a height of 3-6 feet, but can grow up to 20 feet in favorable conditions. It thrives in warm climates and is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11. To propagate this plant, Lawsonia inermis seeds can be collected and germinated. The seeds require warmth and suitable soil conditions to successfully grow.

Germinating Henna Flower Seeds
To germinate Lawsonia inermis, also known as henna, soak the seeds in warm water for 12-24 hours, then plant them in well-draining soil. Keep the soil moist and place the pot in a warm location with indirect sunlight.
We source all of our Lawsonia inermis seeds from a small greenhouse facility based in southeastern Maine and store them in a dark, temperature-controlled environment before shipment. You’ll find that our fresh Henna seeds are much easier to germinate than the mass-produced packets of flower seeds found in stores! If you have any trouble growing Henna seeds, we’re happy to send you additional gardening tips. In the (unlikely) event that your Lawsonia inermis seeds do not germinate at all, we’ll give you a full refund, no questions asked.

Well it’s been great, I think it’s been 2 weeks since I’ve gotten them and two seeds have already sprouted, I’m seeing two more begin to break and sprout too! Cant wait to get an actual seedling out of it
Fast forward to 6/22, goodness the moment a sprout showed it died the next day. Put into soil the moment you see it sprouting if you use the ziplock method. I haven’t tried the soil method but I still have a lot of seeds. I’ll try again.
