Digitalis lanata, commonly known as Grecian Foxglove, is a biennial or short-lived perennial. It features elongated, lance-shaped leaves and produces tall spikes of tubular, pale yellow to cream-colored flowers with woolly, fuzzy interiors. This distinctive foxglove can reach heights of 2-3 feet. While it’s a hardy perennial in USDA zones 4-8, it’s often grown as an annual in colder regions. Gardeners can cultivate Grecian Foxglove from Digitalis lanata seeds. It prefers well-drained soil and partial shade. This species is less common than other foxgloves but is sought after for its unique appearance and cottage garden charm.
