Purple Rockcress (Aubrieta deltoidea), also known as False Rockcress or Rock Cress, is a low-growing perennial plant that belongs to the Brassicaceae family. This species is adored for its beautiful clusters of purple flowers that bloom in early spring. It forms spreading mats of evergreen foliage which consist of small, leathery leaves. Generally, Purple Rockcress reaches a mature height of around 6 inches and can spread up to 2 feet in width. It thrives in USDA hardiness zones 4 to 8.
