Evening Primrose (Oenothera biennis) is a biennial plant species native to North America. It is also known as Common Evening Primrose due to its prolific blooms that open at dusk. This plant species has a tall, erect stem with lance-shaped leaves and vibrant yellow flowers that attract pollinators. It can reach a mature height of 2-6 feet. Evening Primrose is adaptable and grows well in various soil types, preferably in full sun. It is hardy in USDA zones 3-9. Oenothera biennis seeds can be sown directly in the garden or started indoors for germination before transplanting.
