Yellow Pompom Calendula (Calendula officinalis) is a flowering plant that belongs to the daisy family. It is commonly known as Pot Marigold or Common Marigold. This plant has bright yellow, pom-pom-like flowers that are 2-3 inches in diameter, attracting bees and butterflies. It grows to a height of about 1-2 feet and has a spreading habit. Yellow Pompom Calendula prefers full sun and well-drained, fertile soil. It can be grown in USDA hardiness zones 2-11. For propagation, Calendula officinalis seeds can be planted directly into the garden in early spring or started indoors for earlier blooms.
