Angelica (Angelica archangelica) is a tall flowering plant belonging to the Apiaceae family. It is commonly known as Garden Angelica or Holy Ghost. With its stout, hollow stems, lobed leaves, and large umbels of greenish-white flowers, Angelica has a distinct appearance. This biennial plant can reach heights of 6 to 8 feet upon maturity. It can be grown in USDA hardiness zones 4 to 9. Angelica archangelica seeds can be sown in the spring or fall, and the plant prefers moist, rich soil and partial shade.
